Hey, y’all! Our squad has officially wrapped up our third week of ministry in the ‘bode! Our wonderful ministry hosts have established such a well-rounded program in the greater Siem Reap area, so over the course of the last 21 days, our mission varies day-to-day. My team specifically has spent most of our time in the village, serving the children in the community by acting out bible stories, teaching English, playing games, dancing, singing, and coloring. In between teachings, we embark on health walks, our leaders take blood pressure and prescribe medical treatment, and care for those in need. Together we pray over the sick, celebrate with the baptized, and share great testaments of healing to encourage and point their eyes back to the goodness of the Father. During those days we take our lunch breaks under the shade of eucalyptus trees in between plots of farmland. As we make our way through the villages, our van has gotten stuck in multiple parades celebrating the water festival, signifying the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the rice harvest. My favorite, without a doubt, are the times we get to wade through rice patty fields to meet a beautiful family, cast out by the village, and host a bible study for the mother, father, and their three children.

When our team doesn’t spend the day out in the village, we navigate the streets of Siem Reap, the Holy Spirit our guide, to evangelize. We talk to those who listen, and incline our hearts and our ears to those in need of a friend.

On Monday, my team of 7 will launch a ministry mission of our own, where we will teach preschoolers English in a nearby town’s private school. There, we have been called to love on the students and staff in that community, and be a light to those who cross our path! I am beyond excited for this new chapter of the race, and can’t wait to share the testaments of how God is moving in Cambodia!

Until next time,

Olivia
